This book explores why great powers lose Small Wars and conflicts from 1839 to the present day, including the current War on Terror and the War in Afghanistan, as well as other conflicts that involve great powers fighting what can be perceived to be unwinnable wars.

The book was researched from 2014 to 2018; this book will be in an Essay format. It will give the reader the answer to why great power like America and the Soviet Union/Russia lost the wars in Afghanistan and past conflicts where great powers like the United Kingdom was defeated in the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. The Mau Mau rebellion (1952–1960), also known as the Mau Mau uprising, Mau Mau revolt, or Kenya Emergency, was a war in the British Kenya Colony (1920–1963) between the Kenya Land and Freedom Army (KLFA), also known as the Mau Mau, and the British authorities.

This book will cover the British fighting three wars in Afghanistan from 1839 to 1842, the second Afghan war in 1878-80, and the Third Afghan in 1919.

This book will also have information on why the Soviet-Finish War or the Winter War in 1939 and how the Soviet was defeated; there will be more information in this book on other small wars like the war in Northern Ireland from the 1960s to 1998.
